Approximately universal, explicit DMT-optimal constructions for the dynamic-decode-and-forward cooperative wireless relay network

چکیده
Cooperative relay communication is a promising means of wireless communication in which cooperation is used to create a virtual transmit array between the source and the destination, thereby providing the much-needed diversity to combat the fading channel. Consider a communication system in which there are a total of N + 1 nodes that cooperate in the communication between source node S and destination node D. The remaining (N − 1) nodes thus act as relays. We follow the literature in making the assumptions listed below concerning the channel. Our description is in terms of the equivalent complex-baseband, discrete-time channel.

Approximately-Universal Space-Time Codes for the Parallel, Multi-Block and Cooperative-Dynamic-Decode-and-Forward Channels
Explicit codes are constructed that achieve the diversity-multiplexing gain tradeoff of the cooperative-relay channel under the dynamic decode-andforward protocol for any network size and for all numbers of transmit and receive antennas at the relays. A particularly simple code construction that makes use of the Alamouti code as a basic building block is provided for the single relay case. Alon...
متن کاملPerformance Analysis of cooperative SWIPT System: Intelligent Reflecting Surface versus Decode-and-Forward
In this paper, we explore the impacts of utilizing intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRS) in a power-splitting based simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (PS-SWIPT) system and compare its performance with the traditional decode and forward relaying system. To analyze a more practical system, it is also assumed that the receiving nodes are subject to decoding cost, and they are on...
متن کاملApproximately universal optimality over several dynamic and non-dynamic cooperative diversity schemes for wireless networks
In this work we explicitly provide the first ever optimal, with respect to the Zheng-Tse diversity multiplexing gain (D-MG) tradeoff, cooperative diversity schemes for wireless relay networks. The schemes are based on variants of perfect space-time codes and are optimal for any number of users and all statistically symmetric (and in some cases, asymmetric) fading distributions. We deduce that, ...
متن کاملCooperative Relaying at Finite SNR - Role of Quantize-Map-and-Forward
Quantize-Map-and-Forward (QMF) relaying hasbeen shown to achieve the optimal diversity-multiplexing trade-off (DMT) [1] for arbitrary slow fading full-duplex networks [2]as well as for the single-relay half-duplex network [3]. A keyreason for the DMT-optimality of QMF is that quantizing at thenoise level suffices to achieve the cut-set bound approximately towithin an add...
متن کاملRateless Coding over Wireless Relay Networks Using Amplify/Decode and Forward Relays
In this paper two different rateless transmissionschemes are developed. In the proposed scheme, relay node candecode and forward the message to the destination if they areable to decode it, or amplify and forward the message to thedestination. Based on the analysis and simulation resultsprovided in this paper, the proposed method has bettertransmission time than the scheme which only the relay ...
